The shotgun is a manual repeating long gun. Its operation is very simple. Under the barrel, a tube (the tubular magazine) contains a supply of cartridges (like a magazine). When you pull the pump towards you, you bring a cartridge on the elevator plate and pushing the pump forward will thus raise the cartridge in the chamber, at the entrance of the barrel. This action must be repeated after each shot by the shooter because the repetition mode is manual and not semi-automatic.
